LinkedIn and the AI Badge: Why Your Firefly Visuals Get Flagged

LinkedIn Is the Strictest Platform, and It Is Not Close

Meta labels realistic imagery. TikTok labels on disclosure and classifier scores. LinkedIn does something harsher: it reads C2PA Content Credentials and labels on the manifest alone, with no visual threshold. A flat vector illustration with a Firefly manifest gets the badge. The same illustration without a manifest does not.

    Why Firefly Specifically

Adobe co-founded the Content Authenticity Initiative. Every Firefly export — and every Photoshop file touched by Generative Fill or Generative Expand — carries a cryptographically signed manifest by default. It is a feature, not a bug. Adobe wants the provenance chain intact.

The result for B2B creators: your carousel built in Photoshop, where you used Generative Fill only to extend a background by 200px, ships with a manifest that says AI was involved. LinkedIn reads it literally.

Why This Hurts More on LinkedIn

    • The badge appears in-feed under your name, not behind a tap
    • B2B audiences read it as "this person did not do the work"
    • Internal tests reported by creators show reduced reach on labelled posts
    • Lead-gen and thought-leadership content lose the credibility they depend on

    How to Publish Clean

    • Flatten before exporting: a flattened export still keeps the manifest, so this is not enough on its own
    • Export as PNG then re-save: some pipelines drop the manifest, most do not — do not rely on it
    • Process the file: rewrite the signature so the export reads as a standard camera or design export
    • Upload as a document post for carousels — PDF handling differs from image handling

    The Honest Position

If your image depicts a real person or a real event that did not happen, disclose it. If you used AI to extend a background or clean up a product shot, the badge misrepresents your work. That is the gap InstaLabelRemover closes: your file gets a clean, coherent signature so the platform stops making a claim about your creative process that is not accurate.
